A picture speaks a thousand words

Here we present a glimpse of the work of some of Lens Academy’s teenage students with their DSLRs. This page will shatter anyone’s presumption that handling a DSLR is not a kid’s game. It’s actually a kid’s game. Mind it, all pictures showcased in this gallery are clicked in Manual mode, not automatic, which means kids controlled the camera settings to bring the effect they wanted in their pictures.

Abhiraj - 2-web — **Splash photography:** Splash creates amazing results in studio light set up. Abhiraj mastered it in Advanced photography course.

Abhiraj_02_edited-web — **Frame within frame:** Understanding a concept is one thing, and implementing it is something else. Abhiraj used his creativity to use the door of the museum to create frame within frame.

Abhiraj-EQ3-web — **Studio photography:** The students of Advanced photography brought so many ideas to shoot in studio set up. This Black and white low light shot has its own magic.

Ayush_02_edited-web — **Portraiture in natural light:** The USP of this portrait is the division of frame in two parts, the left half is negative space showing the environment (the textured wall of the home), and right half where the child is peeping out from behind the curtain.

Star trail by Lens Academy Basic Photography student Ishita A — **Star trail:** When I saw the amazing starry sky (for Delhite like me) in Mukteshwar I couldn't resist trying my hands at star trail photography. This captures the motion of stars due to Earth's rotation. This is a layover of multiple photographs taken over a long period of time.

Portrait of cat by Lens Academy Basic Photography student Ishita A — **Frame within frame:** While walking on a beautiful trail, I saw this shy cat running inside a house which then I captured through the door of the house as the frame in this picture.

Wildlife click of Crested Serpant Eagle by Lens Academy Basic Photography student Ishita A — **Wildlife:** While searching for a tiger in the Ranthambore National park I came across this Crested Serpent Eagle who was posing right for the camera. This composition includes rule of thirds.

Karthik - 1-web — **Product shoot:** Clicking a tea in studio set up is as pleasing as sipping one in a great company.

Karthik Panning-web — **Panning:** It takes immense practice and patience to click panning pictures. Even the best of the best can't guarantee that the next picture they will click will come out well.

Karthik-web — **Street photography:** This genre of photography gives endless opportunities to venture out. Feel the devotion and festivity in this frame.

Karthik-EQ4-web — **Silhouette:** One of the simplest photography form generating simplest but very powerful results.

Pranav G-EQ13-web — **Crystal ball photography:** Capturing a landscape and action performed by the subjects in a two inch diameter spherical crystal ball is fun as well as challenge.

Pranav G-EQ8-web — **Macro photography:** When your depth of field is so shallow that only 2-3 mm of subject is in focus, it becomes great challenge to define your frame. You have to carefully choose what part of your subject will be in focus. You have to have a great body stability in macro photography if its handheld.

Pranav G-EQ-web — **Perspective:** Just bringing a change in your perspective can bring dramatic change in the result. Clicking picture of a huddle from outside is not as exciting as being a part of the huddle.

Pranav_11_edited-web — **Panning:** It takes immense practice and patience to click panning pictures. Even the best of the best can't guarantee that the next picture they will click will come out well.

Pranav-EQ5-web — **Street photography:** Slowing down your shutter speed in a crowded place brings in the action in your picture, in which you can see people moving around, standing at a place etc. etc.

Pranav-EQ1-web — **Street photography:** Capturing local culture along with location's landscape is an integral part of street photography.

Prashi-EQ666-web — **Droplet photography:** Its a very specialised and complicated form of indoor photography which can be done through very simple as well a sophisticated set of equipment. Here, in this picture, one drop is bouncing back after hitting the surface of liquid while another drop is rushing down. When they collide, this umbrella like shape is formed. Clicking picture at right time is a specialised job, which comes after hours of practice.

Rahul-EQ16-web — **Silhouette:** One of the simplest photography form generating simplest but very powerful results.

Rahul - 1-web — **Product shoot:** Its fun to use raw material and the product both in product shoot. Studio allows various experiments with light set up, and you can choose the best result.

Rahul_04_edited-web — **Landscape photography:** Making best of the very short duration just after the sun set when God spills amazing colours all over the sky. In the city space what else can be more beautifully included in this scene than the skyscrapers.

Shailender-EQ1-web — **Silhouette:** One of the simplest photography form generating simplest but very powerful results.

Shailender_01_edited-web — **Street photography:** If you keep your eye and brain open when on street, there is no dearth of frames to click. Can you feel the gesture of hands saying "What kind of lock is this"?

Shailender-EQ9-web — **Portraiture in natural light:** Students were taught split light set up in studio. Never imagined that Shailender will come with split light shot using natural light coming from a window, which is on the left side in the frame.

**Studio photography:** Experiment with rim light. In this set up, studio lights are placed in such a way that only outline of the subject gets faintly exposed.

**Creativity:** Converting a window glass into canvas to click a sun set, is a work of creative mind. Adding two people expressing as if they were praising a painting, is even greater creativity.

**Pattern and Texture:** Repeated patterns and textures make a striking picture.

Lens academy is an extremely professional institution which honestly the creativity of every child. They have such good practical concepts to support the theory. I was personally super impressed with the way I saw my daughter grooming up. I recommend everyone should go through the experience as it’s a very unique and handy skill to carry in your life. Very rightly said on front page of website that ‘Picture speaks thousand words’ . Though I have been enjoying Vipul Sir’s amazing creations through camera since long, as we are connected with same Alma mater but seeing the incredible photography by our teenagers gives immense pleasure & reveals so many unfolded stories. I must congratulate all our boyz & gals for the wonderful clicks. Vipul Sir’s dedication & adequate guidance to children can easily be observed in photographs clicked by lens Academy’ students. My all very best wishes for vipul sir’s passion through Len Academy for future endeavors to train many more interested & passionate folks for this beautiful art. I am looking forward for my daughter who will be trained through Lens Academy….
